Here are photos of Sarah Hyland at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle Miss Golden Globe 2014 Party on November 21, 2013. At first glance, it appears that Sarah has her hair in a pixie cut. However, this is actually a fun up-style that mimics the look of a pixie cut.

Personally, I think she would look great with a pixie cut. She has a perfect "pixie-face," with her oval-shaped face and beautifully high, striking cheekbones. Sarah's naturally dark brown hair is highlighted with subtle streaks of medium and light brown to achieve a glossy and dynamic look.

To recreate this style at home, it's easier to work with hair that was washed the day before. This is because the slight oil build-up on the hair shaft helps hold the up-style and makes it more manageable.

Start by combing all the hair back and securing it with a hairband. Then, using the pointed end of a foil comb, gently pull sections of hair from the top and sides of the head upwards to loosen the style and create volume. Note that all of Sarah's hair is pulled directly backwards.

Once you've achieved the desired volume, spray the top of the hair with a medium to strong hold hairspray. Gather the ponytail at the back into a messy bun and secure it. Complete the look with a shine spray, a sparkling smile, and confidence. This style works particularly well for women with an oval-shaped face and high cheekbones.
