Keira Knightley floated across the red carpet at the BAFTA Awards in London on February 10, 2008, as if she had just stepped out of a Jane Austen novel.

The British actress, often noted for being on the slender side, exuded romantic opulence with her long hair, which cascaded in voluptuous waves. The frizzy ends and the flat sections on either side of the simple middle part give these undulations a homemade charm and should be easy to replicate.

Try achieving this look with large braids left in overnight, fabric rollers, or papillotes. After the waves are set, never brush them out; instead, separate them gently with a wide-toothed comb or your fingers and secure them with a strong but flexible hairspray.
