Jada Pinkett Smith shows off an extremely unique hairstyle that is certainly not for the faint of heart! It features an overall thrilling look with a buzzed and bleached area that is extremely short.

This short section is created right under very long, brown strands of hair that are pulled up into a high ponytail. There are some risks involved with bleaching and clipper cutting. Only skilled hairdressers can successfully create this style.

Jada's choice to bleach the clippered area of hair creates an edgy contrast between light and dark colors in the overall hairstyle. The whole look is chock-full of opposites - short and long, dark and light, masculine and feminine. It's no surprise that the look often polarizes people's opinions; you either love it or hate it!

Jada's top mohawk section is kept long so that it can be pulled back, although extensions were probably involved in creating this long ponytail effect. Her hair is teased on top to create some height and then twisted into a ponytail for a fun, almost pompadour-like result. Very retro and very on-trend.

The neat thing about keeping the top section so long is the endless possibilities of hairstyles you can create, though each style would have an edge to it due to the short buzzed pieces around the face. So, are you feeling brave? Try this fun and funky cut in the new year!
