American Women Are Aging Beautifully

Aging gracefully

In a survey conducted by OnePoll on behalf of AGEbeautiful, the at-home professional hair color brand by Zotos Professional, it was revealed that more than three in five women (61%) have a positive view of aging. The study, part of a digital campaign, aimed to understand evolving beauty preferences and shed light on the empowerment of women embracing their age with confidence.

The survey disclosed that almost half of women over the age of 35 believe they are just entering their "confidence era." This newfound confidence is not just a fleeting moment; 64% of women feel they are a more confident version of themselves compared to their younger years. Remarkably, women find themselves even more confident today than before they turned 35. Looking ahead, 46% anticipate a further boost in authenticity in the next five years. 67% of women are actively looking for ways to become more confident in certain areas of their lives.

The findings underline a broader cultural shift where women are rewriting the narrative of aging. It's not about defying time but embracing it with confidence and style. Michelle Ryan, Vice President of Marketing at Zotos Professional, emphasizes this evolution, stating, "It's a beautiful evolution, and AGEbeautiful is here to support and celebrate every bold step along the way."

One striking aspect of the survey is the role of experimentation in boosting confidence. Celebrity hairstylist and salon owner, Christopher Naselli, notes, "It's not just about changing your look; it's about unlocking a newfound confidence that radiates from within." This sentiment is echoed by the survey, with 37% of women expressing their love for testing new hairstyles to keep their appearance fresh. Additionally, 34% enjoy trying new hairstyles to stay on top of today's trends.

Over the past decade, the average woman (= the average response from the 2,000 women surveyed) has tried three different hairstyles, with 27% experimenting with five or more. The act of trying out new styles goes beyond aesthetics; it symbolizes a journey of self-discovery and self-expression.

The survey delved into the various ways women boost their confidence, revealing a mix of personal, social, and aesthetic factors. Here are the top 10 methods:

• Spending time with loved ones - 49%

• Laughing/making jokes with friends and family - 44%
