Q: When do babies start growing hair?

A: This varies greatly.

Some babies are literally born with a head full of hair, while others really only have a full head of hair between 8-12 months.

My first child only had a full head of hair when she was about one year old. The third one had nice thick hair by the time he was three months old. So you can have huge variances even within the same family.

You’ll also find that a lot of the time that a child is born with a full head of hair; the hair falls out when the baby is a few weeks old, en then it has to grow back.

I have a friend that was born with very thick, pitch black hair. After a few weeks the black hair fell out and the hair that grew out in its stead was baby blonde. To this day, she has naturally light blonde hair, but black eyebrows.
