New York-based fashion designer Rachel Roy modeled her own creation and sported a truly regal hairstyle at the Time Magazine 100 Party on May 8, 2007.

To create this festive updo, start with very long hair brushed smooth and free of tangles. Weave a classic three-strand braid, beginning at the base of the crown and incorporating all of your hair.

Next, wrap the braid into a tight coil, tuck under the ends, and secure it tightly and invisibly with pins. Mist the updo with hairspray and gently smooth over the surface with your hands for a polished finish.
