This is one of my favorite long hairstyles to create because it works for so many occasions. Whether you're heading to an important meeting, going out for brunch with friends, or just want to feel like you've got your life together on a regular day, this style has you covered.

We're working with long hair here, falling just past the shoulders, which is really a length that gives you many options. The hair is cut in subtle layers that start around the cheekbones area, and this is key because those layers create movement without making the style feel too choppy. Not too much, not too little, just the right amount of layering.

The real magic happens with the waves. These aren't tousled, just-got-back-from-vacation waves. No, these waves are soft, they're controlled, and they have a shine that catches the light beautifully. The waves start about midway down the hair shaft, which means you get a smooth look at the crown and roots, and then the hair gradually opens up into loose, flowing waves. It's structured but not stiff.

The center part is another element that really defines this hairstyle. A center part has a wonderful way of framing the face symmetrically, and it gives the whole look a modern, clean vibe. Plus, it works with the natural fall of the hair, which means less fighting with your hair in the morning. The hair is styled away from the face, which gives you a fresh, approachable look.

One of the things I love most about this hairstyle is how it showcases the health and shine of hair. When you have glossy waves like these, it's like putting a spotlight on how well-maintained and cared-for your hair is. The light reflects off each wave, creating a dimensional effect that makes the hair look full. It's the kind of style that makes people want to compliment your hair.

The hair color is a deep brunette, almost black, with subtle highlights that peek through when the light hits just right. This color choice is perfect for this style because it emphasizes the wave pattern and adds even more dimension to the look. Dark hair can sometimes look flat if it's not styled with movement, but these waves prevent that completely.
