Saks Altrincham

Seamless hair colour with a high shine finishing

When it comes to creating exceptional hair colour and the hottest catwalk looks, a team of hairdressers from Saks in Altrincham have proved they are among the best in the UK having made it through to the Grand Final of the L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2007.

Nicola Rawland and Denise Brown beat off stiff competition from thirty-nine salons across the North Western region to clinch their place in the Grand Final in London on Monday 21st May. They are now one step closer to winning the prestigious L’Oréal Colour Trophy and a once-in-a-lifetime prize that could see them jetting over to New York to produce a photo spread for fashion bible Vogue.

At the North Western Regional Final their live hairdressing skills were put under the spotlight by a panel of top hairdressers judges including Errol Douglas, Sean Dawson, Rob Eaton, David Lambert and Dylan Bradshaw. “The North West is always a strong region. There was very creative colour work and some clothes styling that was spot on trend for Autumn/Winter 07,” commented Errol Douglas, judge at the North Western Regional Final.

Nicola and Denise explain the thinking behind their striking image: “Our look was inspired by the couture catwalks of Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior. We wanted to encapsulate romance and classic beauty so it was essential to present beautifully healthy, seamless hair colour and high-shine finishing.”

The whole room was on tenterhooks waiting to hear who had made it through to the Grand Final and upon hearing their name announced the team from Saks leapt off their chairs in delight.

“We are ecstatic,” exclaimed the girls. “It's brilliant to see that all our hard work has paid off. It’s so important to us to be involved in competitive hairdressing as it brings an enormous amount of energy onto the salon floor, which ultimately is great for our clients.”
