Stylists from Central Studio in Bristol are holding their heads high having made it through to the Grand Final of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy 2008. Russell Lambard, 32 and Becky Branson, 21 are now one-step away from realising a lifelong career dream; to win the Men’s Image title at the world’s longest running, most stylish hairdressing competition.

Russell and Becky explain the inspiration behind their striking image: “We wanted to draw in elements of mod styling and give them a modern twist with preppy, suave sophistication. It’s a fashion-forward look that is still wearable and masculine.”

For Russell and Becky it seemed like an eternity before the judges delivered their verdict. Upon hearing their name announced, they leapt off their chairs in delight. “Only one team goes through to the Grand Final in the Men’s Image Award there is no second chance when the team name is announced – it’s success or failure in an instant,” said a relieved Russell. “The standard of the competition was incredibly high and we were gobsmacked when we realised we were through.”
