Make Friends with Accessories

Hair accessories can be your best buddy on especially busy days. Hairbands are quick fixes for the not-so-great and out-of-time hair days. Please skip the rhinestone-studded tiaras. There is a time and place for them, too, but perhaps not at the office.

Every hairstyle, long or short, can benefit from a stylish hairband which can be just a simple plastic piece or a more extravagant silk scarf with a nice pattern or a color that matches your outfit.

For longer hair, a great solution is always a ponytail, braided or not. Wear it simply with a pair of nice earrings, and you will be ready for the world in just a few minutes.

Use barrettes to pull back part of your hair or to wear your hair up. Brush the hair back, give it a twist, add the barrette, and voilĂ , a stylish you is ready to tackle the day's challenges.

You and Your Stylist

Make an effort to find a great hair stylist who understands the challenges you are facing. Explain in detail how you would like to look and feel, how much time you are planning to spend styling your hair, and what your professional environment is like. Be open to suggestions and also browse through hair magazines and online to get some ideas to show to her or him. Work out the best possible look for you and have them introduce you to new and easy styling products, all-in-one shampoos and simple tricks to turn drab into fab.

Take time to visit the salon, not just for the resulting looks but also as a refreshing break, an oasis of tranquility that will invigorate and rejuvenate you. Always, always leave the children with a babysitter or when they are old enough, at home when you visit the salon. This is your time. Avoid having the kids and you getting styled at the same time. It will take away from your own experience.

Breathe

No hairstyle can be so great to rescue a stressed-out expression. So take some time out every now and then to relax and to breathe deeply. Count your blessings not just once a day, then go on and do your magic. Working mothers are true heroes. You may not be called that too often, but you are.
