So, how does one resist all of these urges, especially when celebrities are getting all of these cute cropped cuts and being so bold and daring? Cara Delevingne shaved her head and bleached it blonde, as did Kristen Stewart. It's tempting, and they rock it, let's be honest.

The first way to resist the urge to chop your hair off is to buy a wig. Going wig shopping is super fun and you can try on so many short styles and pick one that you like that you can purchase and wear around the house. You can get used to seeing how your makeup and wardrobe looks with the new hair and experience the overall feeling about yourself. Maybe learn about how others perceive you or what your partner has to say.

Julia Roberts wore a pixie wig for a movie and loved it so much that she went for the chop and did that a few times, so that is definitely a great indicator. It is an option, to say the least, and it will allow you to go back and forth between long and short in the blink of an eye, which can be a fun little treat.

Along with this, remind yourself how long it takes for hair to grow. Hair grows about half an inch per month. If you cut off five inches, you won't regrow it in 10 months. You also have to factor in regular trims when calculating how fast and how much your hair will grow.

If you do want them, extensions are great but they are not cheap and can cause more damage in the long run. I know that you just want to go get that cute choppy short bob, but it is a commitment and I want you to be almost one hundred percent sure in this decision and know that it is something you can live with. There will be awkward stages, flyaways, and tons of adjustments.

Short hair can be a lot of fun, and many people wear it well, but if you have always had long hair, it is not something to be taken lightly, so really stop and think about what you are about to do. A short bob or a pixie cut might look super cute on someone else, but if you have long hair going this short might be an emotionally huge leap for you.

Use apps to try out new hairstyles and wigs to try out new lengths, long and short, so that you can get a great visual. Plus, wigs allow you to try out new hair for a longer period of time and go back and forth.

Think before you leap, know why you have chosen to go to the scissors and be confident. Confidence is the sexiest thing in any woman, and if you feel that this is not just an "impulse buy" but a life change you want to pursue, I say good luck and get ready for a new ride!
