Matching hair colors

Another is hair coloring and that is a tradition that I like to attribute to Brad Pitt. He definitely gets all the credit for getting his partners to match along with him in the hairstyle arena, starting with Gwyneth Paltrow. Remember when the once-engaged couple showed up on the red carpet with matching pixie cuts?

I loved her hair and loved how they looked like they fit so well together. I think that is something that just happens the more that you fall in love with someone. You start to want to emulate little aspects of them, and that can include their hairstyle and color. That is what happened with Pitt and Paltrow, and I still think it was one of the best examples of matching couple haircuts/colors of all time.

Brad Pitt did it again when he married Jennifer Aniston and the couple got matching highlights for their wedding. I mean, how freaking cute is that? They were sun-kissed and in love and though the union did not last, it sparked something for couples who were looking for a way to bond and express how they felt in a fun and novel way.

If you two are feeling adventurous, pick a fun color that you both like and head on down to a salon for a few matching pink, blue, and/or purple highlights or, if you both have always had light hair but really want to go to the dark side, take the leap together. There is nothing sexier than holding hands as you try something new, whatever that may be, and it may take some of the fear out of the process and the ultimate end result.

I personally love couples who opt for matching hair color because there is something fun yet romantic about the end result, and when you see them together, it seems like they were meant to be. They see "hair to hair" so to speak, and it is important to find someone who will travel the hair superhighway with you, especially if you are someone who likes to change your look a lot. Colors and cuts are constantly changing, and it is a great way to connect and show how much you care for each other, no needles necessary. So, have fun and good luck!

In terms of getting haircuts together, if you both have long hair and have had it for a while but are ready for a change, you can go for new styles for a good cause by finding a salon that donates hair to cancer patients. It's a couple's chop with a purpose, so what's not to love? If you're feeling bold, you can take it a step further and go for matching liberated buzz cuts. Couples tend to inspire one another, and hair is no exception.

And if it does not work out with this particular person, remember that a revenge haircut is always just as much fun. In the end, it is a win-win, in my opinion. So I say go for it and have some hair fun with your partner. It's far easier to call a salon and make an appointment than it is to laser off a tattoo that seemed like a good idea at the time, trust me.
