Unplugged International
Stuttgart, Germany - June 21, 2009 – Theaterhaus Stuttgart. J.7 invites international Stars to the Workshop in Stuttgart.
Bertram K. Darren Fowler and the J.7 artistic team wowed 300 stylists.
The unplugged international event, staged by J.7 for the first time at the Theaterhaus in Stuttgart, enjoyed a high caliber attendance and came with international flair and much
information.
Betram K., the international Ambassador for L’Oreal Professionnel and leader of his training academy Betram K. educations in Vienna, Austria, impressed the audience with his
unconventional haircuts.
The multiple award winner Darren Fowler, international Art Director with Group Clipso and Owner of the Clipso Salon in London demonstrated the true British art of cutting hair and
the J.7 team convinced with perfect cuts and amazing color.
J.7 with its 400 employees has a high sensitivity for the zeitgeist and the label proves this with their collections and stage shows. This year Achim Rothenbühler and his team see the
biggest trends for new looks inspired by mushroom cuts and bobs. The emphasis was obviously on extremely versatile styles and matching styling techniques, allowing a wide range of different looks.
Even to many of the young Hairstylists the event was new as there was a lot of solid hands-on artisanry but without show acts. “We wanted to revive the old workshop tradition”, explains
artistic director Jens Swafing, “away from the dance troupe, but back to real content.” A “back to the roots”, that is less about show effects but emphasizes the exchange of techniques and knowledge. The 300 mostly young
workshop visitors were thrilled and confirmed that J.7 again demonstrated their always being on top of the trend.
Achim Rothenbühler and Michael Knöpfle presented beautiful, versatile Hairstyles and while on stage they shared every step and every trick to create these looks as light and as
structured as they appear in the new J.7 collection “Free your Silence”.
Christina Bauer explained the coloring techniques that accentuated every cut. All was topped of with great ideas for quick stylings at the salon, since the J.7 teams keep noticing that a growing number of young customers
are asking for mere stylings for the weekend.

Betram K. showed of his Viennese charm together with his unusual cutting techniques, which prove that he is a virtuoso who knows how to handle the material hair. He also demonstrated
strongly layered cuts that he achieved very creatively with the knife, clippers, scissors and a lot of “aha-moments”. His technique can only be used by real masters and he impressed the audience with a demonstration of
how important a clear spatial perception of the hair is.
Darren Fowler, Principal and Art Director of the group Clipso from England, showed British art of hair infused with a lot of creativity. In England he has already snatched a good amount
of awards and styles at many of the fashion events. His credo for haircuts, which he showed in all lengths, is: the shape is the most important. He enthused the audience with great ideas that turned classic cuts into
highly modern trend styles. The camera showed every angle of every cut and every step of his work and the work of all the others to enable the viewers to recreate the results.
For the finale all three participants took the stage, presenting one styling each, while all 24 models of the day did an encore presentation. The reactions of the audience to the
concept of the workshop have exceeded even the expectations of Achim Rothenbühler:” It was sensational, we will definitely do this again next year!”
The date is already set. June 13, 2010 at the Theaterhaus in Stuttgart.
