Canadian Company Introduces Pure & Petal Hair Fragrances
Montreal, Canada - After noticing that hair only retains the fragrance from shampoo for only a short period of time,
company founder Elizabeth Pyshnov wanted a way to keep that shower-fresh scent all day. It took a year and a half and over 200
formulations, but the result was a non-weighing alcohol-free and silicone-free fragrance. Recently, Pure & Petal Fragrances have
been made available for retail sale in Canadian outlets. Previously only available online, Pure & Petal has expanded sales of its
innovative alcohol-free, silicone-free hair fragrances to stores across the country so Canadians can purchase the fragrances
Pure & Petal hair fragrances are one of the few hair fragrances on the market available in a variety of
fresh-out-of-the shower scents:
• Sublime Citrus – an uplifting citrus fragrance made with sweet orange and pink grapefruit essential oils
• Heavenly Clean – clean, bright fragrance with notes of freshly-washed laundry mingling with fruity-floral notes
• Linden Blossom – a sophisticated, feminine fragrance with notes of linden flowers and a splash of grapefruit
• Summer Passion – a sweet, seductive infusion of fruity notes.
Health and environmentally conscious consumers will appreciate the addition of natural hair moisturizers
such as silk protein and pro-vitamin B5, and the use of essential oils and an exceptionally gentle preservative. The line is not
tested on animals and avoids the creation of excess waste by forgoing the use of a box for packaging.
After its successful online and limited Canadian launch earned acclaim from North American and European
media, Montreal-based Pure & Petal is expanding distribution of its hair fragrances to stores across the country including Lux Beauty
Boutique (Edmonton, AB), The Makeup Bag (Moose Jaw, SK), Blossom Bath & Body (Toronto, ON), Brushwood Boutique (Waterloo, ON), La Te
Da Beauty Bar (Lakeshore ON), Starlet (Napanee, ON), Just Us Girls (Charlottetown PEI) and others. Expansion continues with new
retailers being added in the coming months.
Looking for a way to keep her hair freshly scented, Pyshnov found few hair fragrances on the market and
those that were available were frequently alcohol and/or silicone-based and only available in one scent. In addition, the scent was
commonly the same as an eau de parfum, rather than a clean, shampoo-like scent that she wanted for her hair. Also, as anyone who has
been in a smoky room can attest, hair is more absorbent of scent than skin, so it requires a lighter formula than perfumes for skin.
Pure & Petal hair fragrances are designed with hair’s absorbency in mind and keep hair lightly scented with a clean, freshly washed
