Men Hair Trends Predictions for 2007

Previous Page

for Men

Men’s hair styles will act nearly opposite the way women’s hair trends go. While recent years have seen hairstyles among young men getting longer and reminiscent of the “mop top” and shag styles of the 60’s and early-70’s – soft, shaggy, razor-cut styles that are styled to look like they just crawled out of bed – men’s hair is getting shorter again. This shortening trend isn’t to the traditional men’s clipper cut lengths, but rather to a more neatly groomed and textured look.

Men’s hair trends tend to shift along the same lines as women’s hair – from straight styles to curly and wavy, and from short and neatly groomed to longer and more textured.

2007 will see men’s hair rising above the collar again with lengths on the sides tending to be above the bottoms of the ears. The styles will still feature razor texturing and a softer, choppier cut, but the styling will use product to create more controlled, carefully groomed looks than the current bed-head and windblown looks.

Men’s colors will also become more subtle. The bold blond of highlighting will make way for subtler shades of the same color adding depth and drawing attention to the features and elements of the hair style without using bold highlighting techniques.
