What a difference a little styling makes. Keeping with the straight look, the hair is parted on the left using a perpendicular intersection between the sections (one section moving forward to the front, while the other goes perpendicular across the top of the head). Product is used (likely a sculpting paste) to give the short hair lots of detail and definition of the strands. It also serves to segregate the myriad highlighting tones in the hair and creates a cool look. The neutral palette is well suited to the style which recreates an impression of a blustery fall day and leafless trees swaying in the wind.
