Short Graduated Layering (2)Previous Page
Start the haircut in the centre-back taking a vertical section slightly angled in to the nape of the neck. Proceeding sections are directed onto this initial section with minimal over-direction.
Having established several sections, cross check to insure correct over-direction.
Then continue until you reach the back of the ear.
Notice the increase in length towards the ear which is a result of the over-direction.
Repeat this process on the other side. This completes the back section.
Move to the front hairline, taking a diagonal section longer at the top with little overdirection. Continue with these sections until there is no more hair to cut.
Then cross check the area behind the ear, observing the balance.
Repeat this process on the opposite side.
