Diary of a Hairdresser

Dear Diary,
Carrie called me this morning and told me the date went well with Enrico. They went to his favorite Italian restaurant and then walked
through the park and talked. I am sure they like each other. How it is going to work with them working together is another story. After
church today, we are going over to Enrico's house for a barbeque. Should be fun. Our day is filled. After Enrico's, we have to go to
Apollo's baseball game and then, around 7:00 this evening, then one of Lynch's friends (Larry) is coming over for a visit and, just
for fun, I happened to invited Jazz too. So, just call me, that little old matchmaker. More later.
(10:00pm) The barbeque was loads of fun. We had no idea that Enrico was one to tell so many jokes. He had everyone laughing. Carrie
laughed so hard, she had tears in her eyes. It was good to see. We talked about the shop getting remodeled and what a good idea that
was. Enrico has big plans to go far in the world of hair. He is planning on taking some advanced training in Europe with Mr. Ricardo
and he's looking forward to that. I believe he said he was going to go next year for about six months. That is a very good idea. After
we said our good-byes we rushed to the baseball field and made it just in time to watch Apollo begin to pitch. It was a good game and
our voices are hoarse from shouting. Later, Larry and Jazz came over. Lynch sort of frowned on me inviting her, because it said it was
obvious I was trying to fix them up together. But, they didn't seem to mind at all.

Dear Diary,
I was tempted to take today off, because it is looking like I will be working everyday today except Sunday. But, I guess I just didn't
want to miss out on all of the fun. Yeah right!
We found out who the mystery man was today, when Enrico walked over to Carrie with a rose in his hand to give to her. One thing I've
got to say about him, that man has style! Carrie had a big smile on her face as he handed the rose to her and they managed to go to
lunch together. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall and heard all the coos and aaahs on that date. Actually, they make
a very cute couple. He with his dark curly hair and her with her striking red hair and green eyes. They seemed to be in another world
when they came back and I know for a fact that they were going to see each other this evening. Herminie frowns on each other dating
associates, because it could make a difficult work place, if something goes wrong with their relationship. I do understand where she
is coming from, but she has decided not to interfere with them.
Later on I noticed Jazz working on this older woman who was acting strangely in her chair. Jazz gave her some water as she felt faint
and all of a sudden collapsed. Blather called the ambulance and they got to the salon in record time and worked on her. I noticed how
they took her in the ambulance and gave her shock treatments. It was horrible, so I guess she must have had a heart attack in Jazz's
chair. The whole ordeal was very upsetting.

Dear Diary,
I met Jazz on the bus this morning and we had a very good visit. She is planning on going abroad on her next holiday. We talked
about Ace's new salon and how well he is doing and all of the hairstylists he has had to hire. I think she said, he has about five
already. That is quite good, considering it is a brand new salon. He has developed a good reputation and that is what counts. One of
his stylist's says she used to "style for the stars." So she has said. Now, that is interesting! I wonder what made her decide to leave
all of that and come to our fair city?
I was working on a haircut when, you guessed it, another rose came in for Carrie. I wonder how long this is going to go on? It's been
happening every day for almost a week now. Carrie is walking on a cloud, but she still hasn't the foggiest idea of who this admirer
could be. No one else seems to know either. By the time, I finished my haircut everyone was talking about it again in the place.
Sloopygarflou is convinced that he knows who it is, but won't tell anyone. When I ask Enrico, all he does is shrug and smile. I have
noticed how differently Enrico cuts hair than some of the others. He likes to use a razor more often, like myself and also clippers to
shape hair. He claims that when you use a razor that the hair blends in more than just using scissors by themselves. I must agree with
him on that one. Naturally, you don't use the razor on thin hair. Horrors! Everyone has their favorite tool to style hair.
