Espirita - A captivating Avant Garde collection
It’s not this world but the next that has inspired Johanna Cree Brown, Trevor Sorbie Artistic Director to create this stunning
collection of hypnotic images. Ethereal and luminous each look has an individual ghost like quality.
Organza, chiffon and lace clothing wraps and unwraps around each model whose delicate beauty is offset with the palest skin and
white blonde hair.
“I wanted to create veils and visors and textures reminiscent of cobwebs and lace,” explains Jo. Her intricate work has given the
hair a huge variety of shapes and textures using plaits, pins and styling techniques to form these incredible looks.

‘Education is what it’s all about, our company cultivates a thirst for knowledge and my role is to make certain that each assistant,
teacher & Art Team member is given the guidance they need to grow and produce exceptional results,’ says Jo. It’s easy to see how
her even tempered nature lends itself to learning and there is no doubt that one ofJo’s passions is sharing skills with others.
As Artistic Director one of Jo’s roles is coming up with new and creative ideas to further explore the creative potential in hair.
She has worked on-stage in seminars and shows in Greece, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands and back stage for Vivienne Westwood and
Ann Valerie Ash, as well as having been nominated for both Scottish & London Hairdresser of the Year.
Jo has an innovative approach which creates strengths in editorial and photographic work, she is contributing to the writing of a new
hairdressing education programme that will be available countrywide. Visual mediums such as art and films can inspire her work but most
of all she credits working with Trevor and her team as the most important ingredient in coming up with new ideas.
