Katie Couric brings a touch of class where ever she goes and the 2010 Stand Up To Cancer Event held on September 10th, was no exception.

Her black power suit came together for a neat gathering under the bust that created a slimming look while her collar line on her burnt sienna colored shirt hung decoratively, like a scarf to show off her petite "UP" necklace to show her support for the event.

The matching black sling backs add just the right amount of sass to an otherwise authoritative look. Part of Katie's professional look is due to her lightly colored hair creating a nice balance in contrast to the black ensemble she's wearing.

It's important when styling short hair to create height (unless you are trying to achieve a flat to the head look). To create height, first begin by washing away any sebum that might be lingering on the scalp. The shorter the hair is, the more often it needs to be washed.

Apply a lipid plump treatment prior to blow drying. Part the hair off center and round brush the area in the crown under. Employ the flat iron for areas around the nape. This generates the commanding appearance that Katie does so well.
