Tribute to Alexandre de Paris
Saint-Tropez, France - Alexandre de Paris, a hairstylist of genius, discreetly took his leave on 12th January 2008 and with him the
latest icon of a certain French hairstyle.
Louis Alexandre Raimon, named 'Alexandre' by his master, the renowned Antoine, was bom in Saint-Tropez (on the French
Riviera) in September 1922.
Alexandre starts as a hairstyle apprentice in Cannes in 1938 in Antoine's salon. It is there that he
absorbs the necessary basic training that will gradually lead him to his nutstanding international career. He is rapidly singled out
for his talent by Yvette Labrousse, who will become one of the most symbolic persons from the upper class: in 1944, the former Miss
France 1930 chooses Alexandre as her official hairstylist when she marries the Aga Khan III. In no time the word of mouth operates and
Alexandre is covered with glory. The young man quickly makes his first Parisian customers happy with his artistic chignons as he opens
a salon on rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in 1957 and prominent ladies like the Countess of Paris, the Duchess of Windsor and Princess Grace of Monaco
only swear by him.
Alexandre is introduced in the Paris art and literary salons and in other high social circles where he
gets acquainted with Sacha Guitry and Jean Cocteau with whom he becomes inseparable from. In the 60's, he styles the hair of all the
national and international crowned heads. Empowered with a well-grounded commercial flair, he is conscious of the fact that his crowned
hairstyles are as many living promotion that also allure an upmarket clientele such as icons from the show business (La Callas,
Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, or Greta Garbo). The man really knew how to appeal to the politicians, to the stars of
the cinematographic art and also to the most beautiful ladies of this world ...
His fame definitely goes beyond the borders of France. Alexandre becomes a symbol of French elegance just
like the best Haute Couture fashion designers with whom he works with: Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Chanel, but also Gaultier or Mugler. The
great masters of Haute Couture regarded him as the ideal partner for events, shows and fashion launches.
As a creator and artist, Alexandre de Paris always starts by drawing a rough sketch whose inspiration is
based on the event his client has to attend or on the dress she will wear. Ball of the Rose, of the Croix-Rouge, Alexandre de Paris is
part of every social gathering.
In April 1978 in Tokyo, on the occasion of a world Congress, Alexandre is elected President Intercoiffure
Mondial, the number one association of the best hairdressers in the world. He will preside over the prestigious hairstyle organization
until 1993. It is at the Ritz hotel in July 1978 that his nomination is officially celebrated during a sumptuous reception that
gathered the upper crust of the beauty and hairstyle industries, the Haute Couture and the Parisian Prêt-à-Porter. All through his 15
years of presidency, he was an extraordinary ambassador to Intercoiffure Mondial.
All through his career, he was awarded with many prestigious distinctions: in 1992, he received the Légion d'honneur from the hands of
the French Minister André Bettencourt. In 1994, the Parisian fashion sphere paid him a glowing tribute by bestowing him on an
"Dé d'Or" of the Haute as he had just retired.
Alexandre who naturally dedicated his lifetime to the beauty of others discreetly departed this life at
the age of 85 and is now resting in peace in his native hometown of Saint-Tropez.
The world of Hairstyle and Fashion will notably pay tribute to Alexandre de Paris at the 20th
Intercoiffure World Congress in Rio de Janeiro, in May 2008.

Nourish Your Skin with Lasting Moisture
Scottsdale, AZ, USA – The Dial Corporation, a Henkel Company, introduces their new Dial Yogurt Body Wash. The
luxurious formula is enriched with nourishing yogurt proteins to help give you smooth and refreshed skin. The product not only cleans,
but moisturizes and nourishes the skin to give you healthier skin, and a healthier you.
Dial Yogurt Body Wash is available in two distinct scents – Aloe Vera and Vanilla Honey. Each features a
light, creamy formula that rinses clean without leaving a filmy residue. Many body washes use oils or petrolatum for moisturizing, but
these can depress lather and leave a greasy residue. Dial Yogurt Body Wash contains yogurt protein and light moisturizers which leave
the skin feeling clean and refreshed, while helping to soothe, hydrate and prevent dryness.
The inclusion of yogurt proteins in beauty products is a popular trend in Europe, and Dial is the first
brand to make use of this proven enriching ingredient for beauty and skin care. Dial Yogurt Body Wash has been clinically proven to
provide moisturizing benefits and will be available for sale nationwide in the U.S. in March of this year.
