Temporary Color gives Permanent Benefits
Carlsbad, California, USA - There is one family-owned business that is doing more to make the world a better place
than most big-name companies. That company is called Zach’s Wax. Started by Eric Plahn, the company creates and sells temporary hair
color gels, as well as an additional colorless holding gel. The gels give kids a chance to do something fun and playful with their
hair – the Plahn’s son, Zach, for whom the product is named, likes to wear team colors in his hair to soccer or baseball games, while
his sister, Lezly, prefers simpler ‘highlights’ in colors – and mom’s don’t have to worry about permanent messes. The gels wash out
easily with a single shampooing and won’t stain the skin or clothes
The popularity of the products alone have made this small cottage business start booming, but the family
didn’t stop there. Eric and his wife, Joy, knew that lots of hair professionals had big hearts and looked for ways to help those in
need, so the family owned company established a policy of donating 10% of every sale to charity. The donations correspond to colors
of the gels being purchased.
• Pink for Breast Cancer
• Blue for Make-A-Wish Foundation
• Yellow for Livestrong
• Green for CareNet
• Red for AIDS Research
Even the clear Firm Hold gel has a beneficiary (the 10% from sales of the clear product go to a hospital
in Mozambique).
The products have become immensely popular, both for their unique sense of no-commitment fun, and the
social-conscious benefits. At $6.00 a tube, the product is flying off the shelves.
The company recently added three new colors to their line:
• Orange for Rally Foundation (children’s cancer research)
• Purple for Children’s Hunger Fund
• White for Alzheimer’s Research
The company also manufactures special order colors for groups and organizations with corporate or team
color requirements, in order to allow them to be used for fund-raising purposes. These fund-raising products also include the company’s
commitment to its adopted charities on every sale.

P&G Beauty Introduces Innovation in Home Haircoloring
Stamford, Conn, USA – You may have already seen the commercials on television, but in March of this year (2008) P&G
Beauty (a division of Proctor and Gamble) will launch it’s the biggest advance in Beauty Science in the last fifty years. Perfect 10
by ‘Nice ‘n Easy’ is an advance high-performance permanent haircolor cream that delivers high-speed, high-gloss, permanent color in
just ten minutes. The product boasts unsurpassed color results, improved hair surface condition and a superior usage experience.
The secret to these claims is the development of a lightening system called AminoGlycine. All permanent
haircolors have two main components: a lightening system and hair dye. The lightening system removes existing color while the dyes
create the new, desired color. These two elements have remained essentially unchanged since Clairol released the first home haircolor
kit in 1956. However, after years of research, and 18 filed patents, P&G Beauty Research developed AminoGlycine, a new lightening
system that is more efficient and effective than the conventional lightening systems that have preceded it.
AminoGlycine lightens hair melanin and forms new color complexes more selectively than conventional
lightening systems, which means that it works in only 10 minutes, instead of the 20-30 minutes of traditional formulas. The formula
selectively targets hair pigments (melanin) and is therefore less likely to react with the keratin fibers in the hair. This reduces
the damage to the hair and preserves the hair’s condition.
AminoGlycine also has ten times less alkalinity than conventional lightening systems. It works at a
lower pH leading to less damage to the hair and preservation of the protective coating of the hair. It also means that there is
significantly less of the unpleasant odor associated with home haircolor.
P&G Beauty assure that Perfect 10 will give tremendous color results in less time and with less stress
and damage to the hair. The product features a custom fragrance of violet and rose with a top-layer scent of blended fruits, such as
pineapple, banana, melon, apple and peach.
The designer color palette for Perfect 10 includes the following colors:
4 Dark Brown Espresso on the Double
5 Medium Brown Mochalotive
5A Medium Ash Brown Swift Chocolate
5G Medium Golden Brown Golden Glow on the Go
6 Light Brown Chocolate Shake
