BBC Three Brings Back Celebrity Scissorhands
United Kingdom – BBC Three has taken heart from last season’s charity fund-raising hit “Celebrity Scissorhands” and has reopened
The Celebrity Scissorhands Academy once again for another series, with an all-new staff, but the same desire to make the world more
beautiful for “Children In Need”.
The show takes nine British celebs and drops them in the deep end of the hairdressing pool, in
a three-week crash course of the ins and outs of doing hair and beauty treatments. The celebrity stylists are all completely
untrained and will be working from day one in the academy. This is nine hours a day, six days a week, and they will be working on
live clients (all willing members of the public who will be giving tips/donations for the charity fund “Children In Need”.
Leading the celebrities in their training is Lee Stafford, Britain’s Hairdresser to the Stars.
Stafford is sure to have his hands full with more than just hair, especially since he will be joined by his “assistant manager”
Steve Strange (who was a popular favorite from last year’s series). The celebrities aren’t just doing hair, but will be giving
manicures, facials, spray tans, massages and all types of other pampering treatments to the clients.
The celebrities are competing, not only to make the most tips for charity, but to earn the
right to showcase their newfound skills on stage in front of professional hairdressers and be crowned “Celebrity Scissorhands
‘Hairdresser of the Year 2007’”.
This season’s celebrities include: Tamara Beckwith, Ninia Benjamin, Brandon Block, Lil’
Chris, Warwick Davis, Javine, Aled Haydn Jones, Ben Nicholas, and Carley Stenson. Check your listing for air dates and times,

Indian Company to Begin Introduction of Hair Care Products
Mumbai, India – Emami, Ltd., a producer of cosmetic goods and toiletries in India, is geared to introduce hair
care products. Citing the success of the company’s Navratna Oil product as an indicator, and the fact that the company’s skin care
group hasn’t grown as expected, Emami’s director says “The time is right for expansion into the hair care sector, which looks
promising.”
The company currently offers beauty products under the brand names “Boroplus”, “Sona Chandi”,
and “Mentho Plus”, among others. It also aggressively markets its fairness creams – Fair & Lovely for women, and Fair & Handsome
for men. The sales of the men’s cream has also sparked the development of face washes, gels and other products for men’s skin care
in the hopes of expanding that product market.
