Hair Curling Up

Q: Why does my long hair curl up at the tips regardless of the length it is at?

A: It sounds as though your hair has a curly wave pattern but possibly (comparatively) little body. This means that your hair lacks the strength to hold its natural curl once there is any extra length (and therefore added weight). This could be a good thing if you prefer straight hair styles, since the hair should be easy to straighten.

However, if you want more curl in your hair, you may want to consider a permanent wave service to give you more body and stronger curls. There are a number of different wrapping techniques to create an infinite variety of wave patterns, and many different perm formulas that will add strength and body to the hair.
